As a Friend of the Shannon Center, your gift will help support the Center’s educational and performance programming, as well as the upkeep of the facility. This will keep the Center operating smoothly, while continuing to maintain the warmth and friendliness it has established over the past two decades.
The Ruth B. Shannon Center for the Performing Arts is part of Whittier College, a non-profit organization. Gifts are tax deductible and can be made in several ways.

Friends of the Shannon Center
By becoming a Friend of the Shannon Center, you will receive special Friends of the Shannon Center communications, a membership card entitling the the holder to a 10% discount at California Grill, and exclusive invitation to our annual backstage tour, and listing in the Shannon Center’s printed programs and lobby monitors. There are two ways to join.
Support the arts with a monetary contribution. By giving directly to the Shannon Center, Patrons of all levels ensure that every dollar benefits the Performing Arts Center and its community-accessible programming.

- Leading Role $250 – $499
- Performer $100 – $249
- Understudy $50 – $99
Guild members are members of the community who support the arts by donating their time to the Shannon Center. Members typically serve as greeters or ushers, help plan special events and receptions, are actively involved in raising support for the Shannon Center, and serve as its ambassadors. Volunteers must serve at least 10 hours per year to become a Guild Member.
The Friends of the Shannon Center meet on the second Wednesday of every month at 4 p.m. in the Shannon Center’s Founders Room.
